acne scars

You are perhaps asking yourself when will acne scars disappear? There is good news and bad news when it comes to this issue. The bad news is there’s no magic ingredient to make acne scars entirely gone . The good news, however, there are effective treatments available to diminish and minimize the appearance of acne scarring.

Acne is a skin condition most generally discover in teenagers and young adults, it happen when hair follicles plug with oil and dead skin cells. Acne can show up as blackheads, red bumps, and whiteheads. There are many causes of acne including hormonal imbalances, medical conditions, sleep deprivation, etc.

Acne scars are typically triggered by cystic bumps or red inflamed whiteheads. When these breakouts happen, they cause a break in the follicle wall leading to a lesion. When the lesions are smaller and shallow, they typically heal fastly. But, if there is a deeper wound, it takes much longer to heal. As the skin try to heal these lesions, sometimes these repairs aren’t as smooth as the original skin which results in scarring. Someone that has severe acne or cystic acne tends to suffer the most with scarring.

Treatment may include excising the scar with a small ‘punch,’ and suturing the defect closed, but this only works for isolated ice pick scars. Doctor can also do skin grafts and take skin from behind your ear to fill the scar, and then they can use a laser or radiofrequency device to smooth it out.

If there are multiple ice pick scars, acne scar treatment tools that use radiofrequency energy are many dermatologist’s first choice. These treatments help create collagen from the inside out, and collagen helps to fill the scars from within. Several treatments are commonly required. In a research on radiofrequency devices and scarring, published in a 2015 issue of the Journal of Cosmetics, Dermatological Sciences and Applications discover that approximately four treatments produced significant improvement in the depth of the scars. In a follow-up research, published in a 2016 issue of the same journal discover that those results held for up to 2 years, although some person had touch-ups.

Some of you are more at risk for acne scars than others, even though there is no way to say for sure who will build scars after acne and who will not. These scars tend to happen more generally after inflammatory acne, specifically when it’s not treated early and aggressively. Other risks include genetics as well as picking, squeezing or popping zits. The earlier that acne gets treated, the better.
